Professional Journey

Having spent a pretty good amount of time in the various sub-fields of marketing, servicing clients across sectors, displaying leadership skills to extract scalable and creative outputs from the teams, I understand marketing communications from its core and the importance of translating a creative marketing activity into a profitable business outcome.

teacher and experiential trainer (July 2000 - December 2004)

With an unmatchable command over language and a zeal to do something different, I began my career as an assistant teacher at a school in Gwalior where I devised innovative means to teach English language to a largely Hindi speaking set of students. This was followed by a brief stint as a freelance trainer imparting communication skills, professional etiquettes and enabling overall development of engineering students.

chief designer (January 2005 - May 2009)

I co-founded ‘Join the Dots’, a training company, where I worked as a chief content designer handling some of the top-notch clients like Infosys, HP, First Indian Corporation, Godrej, Oracle, Adobe, Cap Gemini, HUL and Lafarge. I also designed training modules for life skill development using theatre as the primary training tool as well as organized theatre workshops for working professionals on the weekends. Making theatre work for you was the mantra of these workshops.

marketing manager (June 2009 - september 2010)

A deep interest in wellness got me associated with Mothertree Holistic Healing Center as a Marketing Manager spearheading their ATL and BTL marketing activities, handling public relations along with introducing novel initiatives like Women’s Bazaar.

senior manager (June 2011 - April 2012)

I joined the agency world with a bigger and more demanding role as Senior Manager at R Square Consulting Services Pvt. Ltd handling projects, social media, content delivery and end-to-end brand communication. I worked with clients like John Distilleries, Acer, Lenovo, AMD - to name a few.

HEAD - MARKETING COMMUNICATION (march 2014 - september 2017)

I joined Kestone IMS as Head - Marketing Communications. I built the team from scratch and was responsible for the P&L of the division. In this role, I played a pivotal role in the organizational growth with my creative ability to manage integrated marketing campaigns all the way from idea to delivery for some of the biggest brands like Dell, Britannia, Cisco, Google, 3M, Microsoft, Raymond, AWS and many more.

Director - marcom & business initiatives (september 2017 - march 2021)

I got diagnosed with breast cancer in 2018 but my personal challenges never got bigger than the professional journey I had beautifully crafted for myself. With deep commitment to my work, I rose up the rank at Kestone as Director - Marcom and Business Initiatives, a role that combined my creative prowess with business acumen and leveraged it to strategize and design unique marketing concepts for my clients while finding new business avenues for the company.

Hobbies & other pursuits

Apart from my regular professional commitments, I always seek to indulge in activities that make me happy, align with my areas of interest and help enhance my creative ability. I am a voracious reader, enjoy cooking, dabble in art and write poetry too. I also run a clothing brand called “Aakar” offering products that match fashion with lineage.
